This site honors the life of Bishop Sydney Robert Stewart, born June 1, 1947, homegoing May 5, 2024.

There comes a season in grief where the missing becomes something else — something almost like conversation. Almost daily now, we find ourselves saying Dad would have loved this… would have laughed at that… would have had something to say about this one right here.

That is a gift. To know a man so well — his presence so steady, his values so clear, his voice so strong — that you can still hear him after he's gone.

Our father loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. By his family. By his community. By the people he served and the people who served alongside him. He carried that love with intention, and he would want us to carry it forward.

We are grateful that so many memories of him have been captured in photographs, audio recordings, and videos. People regularly send us their memories of Dad, and we regularly share them with each other — informally, in our family chat, the way you pass a photo across the table. These moments keep showing up, and they keep meaning something.

This site is our way of opening that circle a little wider. We've gathered some of the memories we hold closest, along with tributes from many of you that have meant more than we can say. We offer them here not as a monument but as a living room — a place to sit awhile, to remember, to smile, and to be reminded of the man we shared.
